    Maine PowerOptions is an energy-purchasing consortium that serves as an aggregator for Maine’s public and non-profit organizations.

    Our group-purchasing programs are designed to increase the buying power of eligible member organizations for the purchase of fuel oil, electricity supply, and other energy services, regardless of their size.

    The result is that Maine’s municipalities, non-profit organizations, education institutions, health care organizations, water, sewer, and school districts can have greater control over their energy sources and costs.

    Maine PowerOptions was founded in 1999 and is co-sponsored by the Maine Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority and the Maine Municipal Bond Bank.

    Building Commissioning: Turning Good Intentions into Great Operations

    The Efficient and Healthy Schools Program and the Renew America's Schools Program will talk about the importance of commissioning new systems to ensure that they function properly. Commissioning is the key to making sure that schools get what they paid for before project turnover and while equipment is still within the warranty period. Learn from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory experts about the steps of proper commissioning: documentation, verification procedures, functional performance tests, validation, and training. This webinar will share resources that schools can rely on when planning for commissioning. Attendees will also hear from IDEA Public Schools (Texas) about how they instituted a new policy to engage an independent third-party commissioning agent (CxA) and found significant improvements.  Register here.

    Municipal Tax Increment Financing Information Session

    The Power of Partnerships: Collaborating to Strengthen K-12 Energy Infrastructure

    For K-12 school districts, successful energy infrastructure projects often rely on innovative partnerships. This webinar will highlight different partnership models that can help school districts move forward with making energy improvements that reduce utilities and costs and enhance learning environments. It will provide examples of community-based partnerships, as well as partnerships with energy service companies, universities, state agencies and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Learn how school districts across the country are engaging with these different types of partners to advance their energy goals.
